Samsung’s first Social Media night

Last Thursday, I was invited by Daniel to Samsung's 1st Social Media Night at Samsung flagship store in Vivo City.

This event is to showcase Samsung latest 8-mega-pixel camera phone Innov8.

When most of the invited bloggers arrived, Daniel gave us a short tour of the store introducing us the various products, from MP3 players, to cameras, to mobile phones, printers, LCD TVs, photo printers ....

As it was close to dinner time, we were served with food like 5 different flavors of pizzas, calarmari, salad, potato chips, lasagne and drinks before the event actually started.

We were given a short presentation of the Innov8 with its unique features. Other being the first ever 8-mega-pixel camera, the camera also comes with a smile shot feature which will capture a shot only when your friend smile; it also has a blink shot feature which will scan everyone thus nobody will be caught having their photo taken with their eyes closed. The Innov8 also comes with 8GB internal memory and expandable with MicroSD card; it also have AGIS NavFone Plus GPS which will give voice guided navigation (FOC forever), ERP Estimation and Yellow Pages search. It comes with full version of Asphalt 4 and Fifa 08. Applications can also be easily downloaded for the Symbian phone.

Then, we were told that 3 Innov8s will be given away as we need to take 3 photos on what Innov8 inspired us in 30 minutes. We got our photographs printed out and pasted on the sticky board.

My submission, thanks Nadnut for sending me this photo!

We needed to explain the reasons and concepts of our photographs. The winners will walk away with a Innov8.

As everybody's entry were equally impressive, the judges took quite a long time to decide whom should walk away with the Innov8. In the end, I didn't win as Nadnut, Esther and Rinaz walked away with the Innov8. Congrats to the gals!

Looked like I have to improve on my creativity. Anyway, I had a great time for this event as Samsung made us feel like home and made a few new friends. I only played with the Innov8 like for 3 minutes, I wish I could have explored more on the Innov8. Anyway, looking forward to attending future Samsung events.

  • aiyah 8 meg also no use if the dynamic range is limited as usually the case with compact or handphone camera. it is like telling ppl your house got a lot of rooms (megapixel) but actually your house is the size of a dog kennel (dynamic range)? hehehe....

seefei: what you say quite true, nothing beat an actual digital camera. well, at least from close range still give a good photo!

  • Wow I wish they had something like that down here in California! I mean there are a lot of people down here and it would most definitely be a memorable day in a kodak moment type of history!
It really does look like a fun event and I wonder what other events like it they have planned! :)
With events like this Im sure with its positivity it will only bring people to more of these all around the world!
