CommunicAsia 2008: LG & Yahoo!

It was seven years ago when I attended CommunicAsia, I was one of the exhibitors as I was working as a sales engineer then. Fast forward, I managed to attend CommunicAsia 2008 yesterday with several other bloggers.

I was rather shocked when I collect my pass, since when I became a staff of Yahoo!

First stop, the LG booth where it showcased its 2008 mobile collection. The PR Manager hailed from South Korea showed us around. The main cast of the booth is none other than the flagship The Third Black Label Series - Secret KF750.

Other than being slim and stylish, it has several outstanding features:

1. Tempered Glass - Sophisticated & Glossy Front; Extra scratch resistant LCD Display (240 x 320, 2.4", 262K TFT-LCD)
2. Carbon Fiber - 3D patterned back for premium look; Scratch resistant protector
3. Neon Touch Navigation - Mystifying blue navigation; Delicate vibration touch panel
4. Slim 5MP Camera - 102.8 x 50.8 x 11.8 mm sleek & slim design; 5MP camera function supports timeless design; Face Tracking
5. Touch Media - Access to music, photos, games, documents & FM radio via touch screen
6. Auto Rotating Display - Motion sensor driven screen adjustor; Vertical or horizontal screen change for better view
7. Internal Memory of 100MB and External Memory of MicroSD up to 4GB
8. Connectivity of Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0

I just managed to have a touch and feel of the phone but didn't really have the chance to try out the functions and features of the phone. Nevertheless, it leaves me a deep impression at first sight!

Other than KF750, many other new models i.e. KP110, KP215, KF510, KF300 etc are on display. What is a trade show without the pretty models???

There is also a dance performance from LG's very own Secret troops!

Next stop, Yahoo! which is showcasing its latest mobile solutions! Yahoo! oneSearch had one step better as as it's Yahoo! oneSearch with voice which allows users to search for anything by simply speaking into their devices, it will perform "wide open" searches and return relevant results for a range of queries, it also could adapt to the user's intonations and accent, providing increasingly fine-tuned results as the products is used.

On the spot demos of Yahoo! oneSearch with voice did show that it worked perfectly, you just had to be amazed of the advancement of technologies. Yahoo! oneSearch with voice can be downloaded from http://m.yahoo.com/voice or learn more from http://in.mobile.yahoo.com or http://sg.mobile.yahoo.com.

There is also Yahoo! Go 3.0 which is Yahoo!'s flagship all-in-one mobile offering, it has a feature-rich interface, a truly personalized start page and customizable access to consumers' favorite Internet brands and services through easy-to-use third party widgets including MTV Asia, Yahoo! Cricket, Yahoo! Answers, Showtimes (Yahoo! Indian Movies), and Australian TV series Home and Away. All Yahoo! Mobile Widgets will be accessible through the new Yahoo! Go 3.0 and the Yahoo! mobile home page at http://m.yahoo.com

Last but not least, there is Yahoo! oneConnect which allow you to keep track or keep in contact with your friends in your contact book via e-mails, SMSes and all kinds of social websites which includes Twitter, MSN Messenger, Facebook, Friendster, Yahoo! Messenger etc.

When attending a trade show, who would not be empty-handed!! Of course there will be goodies bag!!!

I can say the PVC leather bag from Yahoo! is very nice! The round thing is like a door bell where you compress it, it will give out a Y~a~h~o~o~! sound! Very cute!
