Yebber 1st Anniversary at Mint Museum of Toys

Just pretty fresh from attending the 1st birthday of Nuffnang in Kuala Lumpur, I was pretty honored to be invited to Yebber's 1st birthday party at Mint Museum of Toys held on 28 March 2008 despite me being rather an in-active Yebber with only 8 reviews.
If you're not sure what's Yebber is all about. Click and play the video to know more about them!!

Let's talked about the venue first. Mint (Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys) Museum of Toys @ 26 Seah Street is the world's first purpose-built museum for toys. Showcasing an extensive collection of vintage toys, including rare and unique one-of-a-kind toys, that spans more than 25 countries over 100 years. Although I had heard and read of this place but can't didn't find time to visit it, maybe also due to the ticket price. Since I was invited for the party thus I went ahead to attend the party, visit the museum and made new friends!

Despite arriving mint slightly late and was greeted by the ever friendly Bobo (kinda said the only yebber that I'm most familiar with) at the registration counter.
Upon reaching level 3, Claudia recognize me immediately and I was thinking was it my name sticker or my face? However I still have the time to have a quick tour of the museum because the party had yet started. I paid a visit to level 2 - 4 to check out the many antique and retro toys which includes Popeye, Batman & Robin, Ultraman, Mickey Mouse, Felix the Cat, Tintin, Flinestone, Snoopy, Inspector Gadget, Dennis, Beatles, Darkies, Matchbox car collectibles and other kampung toys!

Below are some of the 40 plus photographs that I took, there are simply too many of them as I don't have the time to take photographs of the toys on every shelves in addition to being after operating time, some of the lights were off thus making taking photograph rather difficult.

At around 7:45pm, the party started as per what Claudia told me thus I rushed down to level 3. There was a launch of the Yebber video and brief history of Yebber before the start of a 6-course cocktail-style buffet dinner which consist of Parmesan Crusted Chicken, Seafood Platter (Calamari, Dory Fillet & Scallops), Bruschetta (Wild Mushrooms, Tomato Checca & Salmon Cream), and Lingini with Crab Sauce. There are even desserts!! *food menu and photographs extracted from His Food Blog!!)

Frankly said, the buffet dinner tasted so much better than those in Nuffnang party. Among them, I loved the parmesan crusted chicken and tomato checca bruschetta and I didn't get a chance to try the salmon cream bruschetta as I does not want to squeeze with the others and rather mingle with Bobo whom introduce to fellow Yebber Ambassadors - Polarbear, Kilkenny, Feizhu, TrumPat, ladyironchef and His Food Blog(?). It must be really good as it's a clear-out when I'm there for the food! I also didn't try any of the desserts as I'm already filled to the brink!

After dinner, there was the cake cutting followed by Bingo game.

Frankly speaking this is the first time I'm playing Bingo, now I started to wonder what happened to my childhood.

I was pretty close on winning in the 2 rounds of Bingo, check out my card which had a few missing numbers. Urrgggghhhh...

Nevertheless, I did manage to win a Microsoft mouse in the lucky draw. Initially I thought it's a wireless mouse, anyway a win is still a win as I didn't go home empty handed. There was also a goodie bag with a "not suitable for young" magazine in it!

All I can say, it was a smashing party with good food, good company and great prizes! Hope to catch up with you guys again!!
